This year's fall tournament will yield two sets of champions. Will you be one?
This year’s fall team tournament has a new name. But it’s not just the name that’s changed. Our whole tournament has received a makeover. Let's start with what stayed the same:
Round Robin Style tournament with timed games.
Funds raised will support the scholars at Washington Education & Squash Academy (formerly Seattle Urban Squash).
Community members, pros, and students will play together.
And what's different this year?
Rather than an entrance fee, every player who joins the tournament commits to give or get $500. In order to help your fundraising efforts, each player will create an individual fundraising page. We encourage individuals to reach out to their networks- family, friends, coworkers etc. to help you reach your fundraising goal.
You can join a team and not play! Instead of sponsoring a scholar, you can join a team and work to raise $500 through your individual page. There will be a FUNDRAISING TROPHY in addition to the tournament trophy for that team which raises to most money!
Snacks, beer, and wine will be served in the latter portion of the tournament for all those on a team, whether playing or not. No need to even cross the street this year, as our social hour will be at the Seattle Athletic Club!
A base team has already been created through recruitment by this year's teams captains: Anne Shaughnessy, Chris Jung, Ross Elkin, and Therese Tuppeny! Join one of their teams when you register. Each team will also have two students on it once our season begins.
Please note that in order to balance the number of playing teammates on each team, you may be switched to a new team after registering.
